Improvising on the piano or playing in the style of your favourite artist

To improvise: the act of composing and performing simultaneously. In our case, this will correspond to free style improvisation. This type of improvisation is the most complex to set up because it requires perfect mastery of techniques and a flourishing imagination!

For this reason, in most cases, we will start the lessons as follows:

– choice of improvisation style: classical or modern (film music composer, singer, etc.),

– study of the style in question: melodic and harmonic study, detailed exploration of the bass,

– improvisation of the bass line based on a chosen style of melody, improvisation of the melody based on a chosen style of bass line,

– complete improvisation (bass line and melody) based on a chosen style.

In all cases and very quickly, after a few lessons, the student will be able to enjoy improvising as they please, without any sheet music.
